HOST JOB SUMMARY The Host position is responsible for providing organizational and operational support to the management staff for the efficient operations of the Restaurant. These duties include (1) overseeing Open Table reservations, (2) seating the dining room in an efficient manner, (3) training new employees hired as hosts, (4) answering all incoming phone calls and checking voicemails, (5) handling inquiries for private events, and (6) keeping the host and bathroom areas clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times.
HOST ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain a positive, high, well-balanced energy level throughout the entire shift
Have strong interpersonal communication skills in order to greet guests, answer guest questions and address guest concerns in a warm, professional, and accommodating manner
Exhibit consistently dependable, reliable, punctual, and trustworthy conduct
Provide exemplary guest service on a consistent basis
Daily review of Open Table reservations, special events and private parties and create a game plan for the day
Politely welcome guests by greeting them and ensure they are seated in a timely manner
Maintain host and bathroom areas by keeping them clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times
Respond to all inquiries about private parties
Assist the management team with guest relations for day-to-day operations
HOST SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY Knowledge of Teamwork and Toast POS system
Ability to read, write and speak the English language to interact with guests, the public, and coworkers
Proficient verbal communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and professionally deal with stressful situations during busy periods in a loud, busy, and crowded environment
Strong interpersonal skills to provide overall guest satisfaction
Superior attention to detail
Excellent organizational skills
Experience with Open Table
Ability to multitask
Ability to interact professionally at all times with guests, management team and coworker
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS Education High School Diploma or GED equivalent optional
Experience Minimum of one years’ experience in a fast-paced restaurant/bar preferred
Must be at least 21 years old
Licenses or Certificates
Food Handlers Card preferred
ABC Service Certification preferred
CPR certification and/or First Aid training preferred
GROOMING All employees must wear the proper uniform and maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance in accordance with the Company’s grooming standards. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING ENVIRONMENT Must be able to work in an environment with constantly elevated temperatures
Must be able to work and move quickly in a tight-space environment in a safe manner without disrupting other employees
Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs.
