The C4N Production Manager will directly supervise all entry and mid-level staff to ensure their successful support of the U.S. Navy’s Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC) Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) program on-base. This position is critical to the success of FWG’s partnership with the U.S. Navy. This position will manage all activities and the staff in an assembly function including a variety of product assembly operations on product components, assemblies and sub-assemblies.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Manage the activities and staff in an assembly function including electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical or measurement product assembly operations on product components, assemblies or sub-assemblies
Follow methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering, cable harnessing and welding/fitting on assembly units
Make setups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications
Establish and operate a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exact tolerances and dimensions
Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications
Determine sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup
Ability to use a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments
Make standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speed
Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining
Fit and assemble precision parts into mechanical equipment and determine material, parts, and equipment required
May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures
Develop and maintain professional, results-oriented relationships that strengthen FWG’s reputation and support positive outcomes through documented communication, timely response, and issue resolution
Anticipate customer concerns and engage early to mitigate risk, resolve performance issues, and uphold FWG’s record of quality and reliability
Ensure all personnel maintain required certifications, training, and clearance eligibility
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and mission focus across the team
Other duties as related to the business functions of FWG Solutions, as assigned
Requirements & Qualifications Education High School Degree Required
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration or other related field Required
Licenses & Certifications Active Secret Security Clearance
Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Lean Manufacturing Certification, Six Sigma Certification or Project Management Certification (PMP) desired
Experience 8+ years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment
8+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, inventory and supply chain management, quality control and team management
Experience in marine, aerospace or automotive industries preferred
Experience with lean manufacturing principles like waste reduction, process optimization and continuous improvement
Experience with manufacturing software (ex. ERP, MRP, or MES)
Skills & Abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to hold yourself and others accountable on short-term and long-term goals
Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
High level problem-solving and communication skills
Project management principles and practices
Ability to work with various levels of personnel including senior leadership
Use of Microsoft Office software applications to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Other Ability to work onsite 5 days per week with additional hours, as required
Some travel, as required by operational needs
