Position Summary
Sovah Danville is seeking a part‑time Monitor Technician in the Behavioral Health Unit to ensure a safe environment for psychiatric patients in a locked inpatient unit setting.
Responsibilities
Perform continual surveillance of behavioral health unit monitors and operate the patient‑monitoring system.
Monitor dining/day rooms, and hallways on Behavioral Health when occupied by patients to assure patient safety.
Monitor patients for suspicious behavior indicating the possibility of self‑harm.
Report incidents, utilize nursing staff for concerns, discuss recent issues, and provide any pertinent patient details with the covering/on‑coming monitor technician.
Recognize patient behaviors in the dining/dayroom and hallway environment that may result in an unsafe situation.
Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Required Skills
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Required Certifications / Licenses
AHA BLS required.
