
Monitor Technician (BHU) - Part Time

Position Summary
Sovah Danville is seeking a part‑time Monitor Technician in the Behavioral Health Unit to provide services to ensure a safe environment for psychiatric patients in a locked inpatient unit setting.
Responsibilities
Performs continual surveillance of behavioral health unit monitors and operates the patient‑monitoring system.
Monitors dining/day rooms and hallways on Behavioral Health when occupied by patients to assure patient safety in the environment.
Monitors patients for suspicious behavior indicating the possibility of self‑harm.
Reports incidents, utilizes nursing staff for concerns, discusses recent issues, and any pertinent patient details with the covering/on‑coming behavioral health monitor technician.
Recognizes patient behaviors in the dining/dayroom and hallway environment that may result in an unsafe situation.
Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Required Certifications / Licenses
AHA BLS required.
