**Special Education Teacher (K-6 & Secondary) - 12 Openings**
**Schedule:** 37.5 hours/week
**Contract Length:** **39 Weeks**
**Start Date:** **July 27, 2026**
We are hiring **12 Special Education Teachers** for the upcoming school year, with several long-standing vacancies across K-6 resource classrooms and select collaborative/co-teaching settings. Teachers will provide specialized instruction, case management, and support for students in grades K-12 while working closely with general education staff and the Special Education Program Administrator.
**About the Role**
+ Resource classroom (pull-out); occasional collaborative classrooms
+ Case management (est. max of 20 students, often fewer)
+ Participate in IEP development, planning, and progress monitoring
+ Collaborate with general education teachers and support teams
+ Use **Powerschool Special Programs** for documentation
+ High-needs district with strong preference for certified, experienced SPED teachers
**Minimum Requirements**
+ **Alabama Collaborative Certification (K-6 or 6-12)**
+ Pre-K roles require **Pre-K Certification**
+ Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
+ Minimum one year of teaching experience (preferred)
+ Familiarity with AL State Code (strongly preferred)
+ CPR, TB/PPD, and health requirements if applicable
+ Must meet federal, state, and local standards
+ Must be at least 18 years old
