
Accounting Supervisor - Dallas, TX - (110k-120k + bonus)

LHH is seeking an Accounting Supervisor on behalf of a highly respected and nationally recognized professional services firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls, along with experience supporting audit and compliance processes. A CPA designation is preferred, and strong leadership or mentorship skills will be a plus. Job Responsibilities:
Perform and oversee complex accounting functions including financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and payroll processing.
Manage full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable operations to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
Conduct variance analysis and provide financial insights to support operational and strategic decision-making.
Ensure compliance with internal policies, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), and US Income Tax basis accounting where applicable.
Assist in external audits by preparing documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.
Support and mentor junior accounting staff, including reviewing their work and providing guidance on technical accounting issues.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial information aligns with business operations and support cross-functional financial needs.
Clearly communicate complex financial concepts to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance accounting workflows, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Jo Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA certification is preferred but not required.
3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a professional services or complex multi-entity environment.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex formulas).
Familiarity with accounting software; experience with tools such as Emburse, Concur, or Elite 3E is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a high attention to detail.
Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
