Job Overview
Adecco has a great opportunity for a Medical Billing & Insurance Accounts Receivable Specialist position located in San Antonio, TX. Pay starts at $21.00 per hour and the schedule is Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of medical accounts receivable collections for a physician medical group.
Follow up on claim denials from all assigned insurance payers, resolve billing issues and address inquiries from patients and clinic staff.
Use effective collection techniques to keep accounts receivable current, actively monitor delinquent payments and take appropriate actions to rectify them.
Assist in the growth and success of the company while upholding its mission, vision, and values (Integrity, Compassion, Synergy, Stewardship).
Follow up insurance billing to ensure prompt receipt of payments and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.
Resolve patient billing inquiries promptly, initiating adjustment requests as needed.
Proactively follow up on zero‑payment explanations of benefits to obtain claim payments.
Conduct monthly reviews of assigned accounts, identify discrepancies, correct errors, and ensure accuracy.
Provide comprehensive support for inquiries related to accounts, offering assistance to stakeholders.
Conduct research on billing issues and follow up with relevant parties to achieve resolution.
Initiate payer and/or patient refund requests for overpayments after verifying refund eligibility.
Initiate debt write‑off requests in accordance with established policies and regulatory guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
2+ years medical billing and/or collections experience in a physician’s or other medical facility setting.
High School Diploma or GED.
Knowledge of governmental insurance plans (Medicare Part B and C, Medicaid, Tricare) and commercial insurances (PPO, HMO, EPO, HRA).
Working knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD‑10 coding.
Understanding of HIPPA guidelines.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience with EMR software (eClinicalWorks preferred).
Strong multitasking, deadline‑meeting, and teamwork skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Work Hours & Travel
Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm; as needed to complete projects. Travel to medical offices may be necessary for benefit education.
Physical & Working Conditions
Office setting; routine use of computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Mostly sedentary work; occasional filing, lifting files, bending to stand on a stool.
Regularly required to talk and hear.
