Job Summary
PayPal Developer Relations is undergoing a transformation, evolving how we engage, inspire, and support developers around the world. This role sits at the center of that change, helping shape and scale global developer communities through high-impact events, programs, and experiences. The Global Developer Community Manager partners closely with Developer Relations, Marketing, Product, and Communications teams to bring PayPal’s developer ecosystem to life—fostering connection, sparking innovation, and driving awareness and adoption of PayPal’s platforms. The role emphasizes creativity, cross‑functional collaboration, and continuous improvement as we build the next generation of developer engagement at PayPal.

Essential Responsibilities

Uses data to build insights on product or platform requirements consistent with the shared vision for the product.

Gathers insights from the customer experience and customer needs to input to product requirements.

Analyzes research, market analysis and usability studies, research and market analysis to support data‑driven decision making.

Monitors product profitability measures, including budget.

Lead sprint planning, daily standups and retrospectives to drive execution. Interfaces with product and technology leadership as needed.

Partners with content developers, data scientists, product designers and user experience researchers to identify new opportunities.

Expected Qualifications

3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Responsibilities

Help shape and scale PayPal’s global developer community strategy as part of the ongoing Developer Relations transformation.

Plan, support, and execute global developer‑focused events and programs, including online, hybrid, and in‑person experiences.

Build engaging, inclusive developer communities that connect PayPal customers, partners, and internal teams.

Partner closely with Developer Relations to bring PayPal for Developers to life through events, campaigns, and community initiatives.

Support end‑to‑end communication strategies for developer programs, including event promotion, community updates, and post‑event engagement.

Collaborate with Marketing, PR, and Communications teams to ensure consistent messaging, storytelling, and brand alignment across developer initiatives.

Contribute to the creation of compelling content for developer audiences, including social posts, event communications, and community resources.

Monitor developer feedback, sentiment, and engagement across channels to inform continuous improvement.

Analyze event and community performance metrics and translate insights into actionable recommendations.

Work cross‑functionally with Product, Engineering, and Sales teams to stay aligned on platform capabilities, roadmap updates, and developer priorities.

Help establish repeatable frameworks, best practices, and scalable processes for global developer engagement.

Represent PayPal at industry events, conferences, and community forums to build awareness and advocacy.

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of experience supporting or managing community, events, or engagement programs, ideally in a developer, technical, or B2B environment.

Experience working with developer ecosystems, APIs, platforms, or open‑source technologies.

Strong storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Comfort collaborating with globally distributed teams across regions, cultures, and time zones.

Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.

Data‑informed mindset, with experience using metrics, testing, and insights to optimize engagement and communications.

Passion for building community, fostering relationships, and creating meaningful experiences for developers.

Curiosity and enthusiasm for digital technologies, developer trends, and emerging best practices.

Willingness to travel up to 30–50% to support global events and community initiatives.

Austin, Texas: $130,500.00 - $193,600.00 Annually
