APIM Engineer

The Senior APIM Engineer / Lead is responsible for designing, building, and scaling enterprise API platforms while providing technical leadership. This role ensures APIs are secure, high-performing, and aligned with business and integration strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Design and manage API platforms (Azure APIM, Apigee, Mulesoft, Kong, AWS API Gateway)
Define API standards, governance, and lifecycle management
Implement API security (OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, mTLS) and ensure compliance
Build CI/CD pipelines and automate deployments using IaC tools
Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot API performance and integrations
Lead API initiatives, mentor engineers, and collaborate with architecture teams
Required Qualifications
7+ years in software/integration, including 3+ years in API management
Strong REST/API design and API gateway experience
Knowledge of security protocols (OAuth2, JWT, etc.)
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
Familiarity with CI/CD, IaC, and networking concepts
Preferred
Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, SNS/SQS, etc.)
Cloud certifications and exposure to regulated environments
