Duties Performed
The ability to teach both traditional (lab‑based) and online courses is expected. The successful applicant will contribute to the continued growth of our undergraduate degree program. Responsibilities include supporting the enhancement of the Construction Management program and the Engineering Technology department through the development of labs and teaching resources, curriculum improvement, and involvement in the accreditation process (e.g. SACS, ABET, ATMAE). Teaching the equivalent of 30 credit hours annually, roughly 15 credit hours per semester.
Educational Requirements
A completed Bachelor’s degree with professional experience in Construction Management, or a completed master’s degree, or ABD (All But Dissertation) by July 2026, or a completed doctorate in Construction Management, Building Construction/Science, Civil Engineering with a construction emphasis, or a closely related field is required.
Experience Required
The applicant must demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate education and service, as well as a solid ability to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration. Preference will be given to candidates with at least three years of industry experience in construction management and/or prior college‑level teaching experience. Proficiency in using various construction power tools commonly found in wood, concrete, and metal labs is expected, along with strong knowledge of construction processes and documentation, cost estimating, scheduling, surveying, project management, construction materials, and related areas.

Excellent communication skills are required.
