Job Summary
The Communications and Development Intern will play a key role in helping expand our social media, marketing initiatives, and community engagement. Specifically, the Communications and Development Intern will work closely with the Development team to implement the organization’s comprehensive communications and community outreach plans.
The Communications and Development Intern will have a demonstrated interest in digital outreach, philanthropy, and a genuine interest in community building. Previous experience in graphic design, volunteering, and/or data management is a plus. Intern must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Intern should be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be proficient with Google Suite.

Projects and Duties
Assist with the creation of acknowledgements, newsletters, and other donor-facing communications.
Modify and co‑manage reports regularly.
Support the planning and execution of CHOICES’ participation in the Memphis Pride Fest 2026.
Develop strategies for connecting college/university students in Memphis and Carbondale with CHOICES services.
Coordinate volunteer trainings and management throughout the summer.
Support and manage Development materials and inventory.
Other Development and Communication tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Background in Communications or strong interest in one or more of the following areas: Marketing, Fundraising, Volunteer Management, Public Health, Project Management, and/or Nonprofit sector
Current collegiate student, 2026 collegiate graduate, or equivalent experience
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Outstanding writing and editing skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Enthusiasm for the mission of CHOICES: Center for Reproductive Health and the services we provide
