
CVP, Advanced Planning Group Case Design Consultant

Role Overview
Advanced Planning Group supports all agents of New York Life. The ideal candidate will have at a minimum, five to ten years of experience in the areas of estate planning and business planning, charitable planning, asset protection planning, and income tax planning. While not required, a working knowledge of life insurance products would be an asset.
Location Designation: Fully Remote
What You’ll Do
Agent Support – Collaborate closely with agents, general office management, and consultants to provide personalized case consultations and case design services, assisting agents in identifying estate, charitable, business, transnational, and retirement planning strategies that align with client goals while integrating product solutions.
Estate and Business Planning Case Design – Create customized and sales‑focused estate and business planning cases that address client planning needs. Assist and collaborate with other members of the Case Development Team to ensure all team members provide the highest level of technical support.
Presentations – Present on a variety of advanced planning concepts on national and regional webinars, agent study groups, and online seminars. Serve as subject matter expert to address technical questions, and create new presentations for agent training and seminars.
Content Development – Create new content for the APG library, including pieces for agent use and client‑focused concept pieces. Collaborate on customized planning presentation templates.
Peer review APG Library Content – Review library pieces during renewal, submit corrections and updates to the sales support team.
Leadership – Take a role in implementing new initiatives stemming from changing laws, integration of new products, and content development around core offerings.
What You’ll Bring
Minimum of 5–10 years’ experience in the advanced market with detailed understanding of estate and gift transfer tax planning, business planning, qualified and non‑qualified retirement planning, charitable planning, and income tax planning.
Juris Doctor required.
Experience presenting complex advanced planning techniques to advisors and clients, engaging parties to implement strategies.
Detailed knowledge of life insurance products, taxation, funding (split dollar, premium financing), and their use for high‑net‑worth individuals’ business and estate planning.
Experience integrating financial planning concepts and estate/business planning strategies to develop comprehensive plans for high‑net‑worth clients and business owners.
Ability to work independently with little technical guidance from management or other team members.
Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $120,000 – $185,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Employees are also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and may participate in an incentive program.
