
New Student Orientation Leader (Temporary)

Position Summary
The New Student Orientation Leader plays a key role in welcoming and supporting incoming students during the orientation process. Orientation Leaders serve as peer mentors and campus representatives, helping new students transition successfully by providing guidance, facilitating activities, and sharing information about campus resources and student life.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and facilitate small group sessions during New Student Orientation
Serve as a positive role model and representative of the college
Welcome and engage new students and their families in a professional and inclusive manner
Share accurate information about campus resources, services, and student expectations
Assist with check-in, event logistics, and overall program execution
Guide students throughout orientation activities and help them navigate campus
Answer questions and provide support to help ease students’ transition to college
Collaborate with Orientation Program Assistants and professional staff
Participate in required training sessions and team meetings prior to and during orientation
Qualifications
Currently enrolled student in good academic and disciplinary standing
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to lead and engage groups of students
Dependable, responsible, and able to work as part of a team
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Previous involvement in campus activities, leadership roles, or student organizations
Knowledge of campus resources and student services
Public speaking or facilitation experience
This position is located on the Midlands Technical College Airport and Beltline Campus.
This position is scheduled to run from May 15, 2026, through August 14, 2026, and will consist of three days per week with 6-hour shifts.
