Summary / Objective
The Production Associate position is responsible for supporting a variety of production functions and departments including stripping paperboard cartons, performing bindery fulfillment, etc. The Production Associate supports a machine operator to ensure maximum quality, productivity, and accuracy.

Essential Functions

Maintain safety standards while working on equipment

Use a hammer, air hammer or other scrapping device to remove excess material from pre‑scored paperboard cartons

Place stripped cartons neatly on pallet

Keep a clean, safe work environment

Read and follow directions as indicated

Watch for quality of the prints

Count products for accuracy

Box items for shipment

Perform hand fulfillment duties such as folding boxes, hand‑inserting documents or other materials

Support other departments as needed

Competencies

Ability to read and write English

Ability to effectively communicate with multiple levels of the organization

Ability to work independently

Attentive to detail

Excellent attendance required

Basic computer skills

Required Experience and Education
High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Experience and Education
Direct mail, packaging, print experience preferred

Work Environment

Subject to Heat – The worker is subject to heat. Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity.

Subject to Noise – The worker is subject to sufficient noise to cause worker to shout in order to be heard above noise level.

Subject to Hazards – The worker is subject to hazards, including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity of moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles or forklift, electrical current, working in high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for the full shift; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; may occasionally climb stairs. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full‑time position with a standard schedule of 40 hours per week. Overtime may be required dependent upon business necessity.
