Position Summary

As a Service Deli Clerk you will assist in the cooking, preparing, presenting and serving of deli dishes, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, freshness and sanitation.
Primary Responsibilities

Assist in the production, development, preparation and maintenance of deli menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
Help keep the food service and seating areas clean and sanitized.
Display and restock deli products, ensuring shelves and cases are filled, fresh, rotated, faced and cleaned.
Maintain accurate food inventories.
Unload deliveries and organize stock rooms as needed.
Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment.
Collaborate with deli team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and guest service.
Attend trainings and keep certifications current.
Guest Service

Greet and assist guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
Provide knowledgeable answers to guest inquiries.
Promote a high level of morale within the department and store.
Take orders accurately and process purchases promptly.

Product Handling

Stock shelves and maintain displays to store standards.
Rotate stock and check expiration dates to ensure freshness.
Package and label products using a computer program.
Assist in unloading deliveries and organizing stock rooms.
Maintain proper freshness, pricing, code‑dating and merchandising in compliance with company policies.
Cleanliness and Safety

Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Follow safety and sanitation procedures.
Report safety hazards or equipment issues to management.
Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
Contribute to cleaning responsibilities as directed by management.
Cash Handling (if applicable)

Operate cash registers and handle transactions accurately.
Follow store policies on returns, exchanges and refunds.
Ensure cash security during transactions.
Team Collaboration

Work cooperatively with team members to achieve store goals.
Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
Assist other departments as needed.
Attend departmental, store and company meetings as required.
Apply company policies and promote a harassment‑free environment.
Position Requirements

Age Requirement: 18 years or older
Food Handlers Permit required
Availability: 6:00am–9:00pm Monday–Sunday, including weekends and holidays
Physical Requirements

Stand, walk, twist, sit and bend for extended periods.
Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Use hands and arms to push, pull, lift, reach, grip and balance.
Occasionally stoop, crouch, kneel or crawl.
Stand and walk for prolonged periods.
Access all areas of the store.
Lift up to 50 pounds at times, including floor‑to‑shoulder and overhead lifting.
Climb step stools or ladders as required.

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Previous experience in food service or guest service (preferred).
Skills and Abilities

Basic math skills for handling cash transactions.
Follow written instructions accurately.
Operate cooking machinery.
