Gifford is seeking a detail-oriented
Senior Accountant
to support accurate and timely financial operations in a dynamic environment. This role applies strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to prepare financial statements, manage complex general ledger accounts, and ensure the integrity of financial data.
The
Senior Accountant
plays a key role in leading month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, performing reconciliations and analyses, and identifying and resolving discrepancies. This position partners closely with leadership to support audits, regulatory reporting, and cost reporting requirements, while helping maintain strong internal controls and compliance standards.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and self‑motivated, with advanced Excel skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently. Experience in healthcare accounting is a plus, along with a collaborative approach to supporting team members and improving financial processes.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree (in Accounting or Finance) or Associate’s degree with field experience
At least three years of working experience with Bachelor’s degree in related field OR at least five years of working experience in Accounting role with Associate’s degree
Advanced working knowledge of Excel
Ability to organize, file, and maintain multiple projects
Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilitiesExperience working in healthcare, preferred
Hands‑on experience working with complex general ledger and reconciliation accounts
Critical thinking and attention to detail as it relates to data inconsistencies
