
Legal Secretary

We are seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join our team. This is a full-time, in-person position (hybrid/remote work is not offered). The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of legal secretarial experience, with trial experience strongly preferred. This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively support multiple attorneys across a variety of litigation matters.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain familiarity with California state and federal court rules and procedures
Proactively support attorneys by tracking the status of current cases and projects, using available resources to ensure timely progress
Handle a wide range of complex, confidential, and time-sensitive materials
Prepare, revise, and proofread correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents
Provide dedicated support to four attorneys handling employment litigation, affirmative action, class action, and related matters, with additional backup support as needed
Serve as a liaison between internal departments, clients, and outside agencies, including coordinating depositions, mediations, and client communications
Manage docketing responsibilities, maintain attorney calendars, and track CLE records
Coordinate travel arrangements, including flights, hotels, and transportation, and manage any necessary changes
Prepare expense reports and assist with billing and collections
Perform both paper and electronic filing for office and client matters
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Legal Secretary
Trial experience preferred
Strong knowledge of California state and federal court filing procedures and rules
Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills
High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal-specific software
