
Sr. Scrum Master

Position Overview
The Scrum Master will support the Product delivery team in understanding Agile best practices to effectively manage Client's Building Energy Usage Portal – a digital product that provides whole‑building aggregated usage data for compliance with Local Laws 97 and 84.
The Scrum Master is responsible for coaching the team on agile practices using the Scrum methodology, facilitating Scrum ceremonies, removing impediments, managing scope, and shielding the team from external distractions.
Scrum Master brings the Product Owner, Business Analysts, IT Business Delivery, External Developer teams, and Data teams together, translating between them on build, testing, release, defect and request management activities.
The preferred candidate demonstrates exceptional leadership skills and constantly seeks continuous improvement while building high‑performing teams.
The Scrum Master interacts with the Agile team by running and enabling Scrum ceremonies, tracking development progress, and ensuring necessary follow‑ups to unblock issues.
Scrum Master works with the Dev team to manage story point allocations, maintain the Azure DevOps board, and align epics, features, and stories/bugs.
Scrum Master tracks capacity, balances resources between teams, and reports on Sprint burndown, velocity, adherence to estimates, release health, defect trends, and escalates issues to the Product Owner.
Scrum Master may create new reports and dashboards, e.g., bugs per Sprint or Feature, and track user stories to completion by following up with developers daily.
Where development blockers exist, Scrum Master alerts the product team and facilitates meetings to clear roadblocks.
Scrum Master tracks stories through production deployment, working with the Product Owner and Business Analysts to ensure stories have adequate detail and are approved for the current sprint, especially when a release is on the horizon.
