Payroll Specialist
Join a team committed to keeping Ashley the world's largest manufacturer and retailer of furniture. The Payroll Specialist will process weekly hourly payrolls for Ashley's retail stores, distribution centers, and corporate locations, ensuring accurate and timely payment for our frontline teams across all Ashley Companies.
What Will You Do?
Process Multi-Location Retail Payrolls
Process employee miscellaneous deductions for retail store associates, warehouse teams, and delivery drivers.
Receive hours and wage data via AS400 and Excel from retail locations nationwide.
Audit driver trip packets and delivery team timecards for accuracy.
Import data into HRIS, make adjustments as necessary, run reports, verify reports, print checks and sort checks.
Manage commission calculations, overtime tracking, and shift differentials for retail and distribution center employees.
Work closely with offsite retail store managers, distribution center payroll departments, and internal HR teams to coordinate the completion of weekly payrolls.
Support new store openings and seasonal hiring by ensuring seamless payroll onboarding for retail associates.
Partner with retail operations and store leadership to resolve payroll discrepancies and timecard issues.
Prepare Retail‑Focused Payroll Reports
Generate weekly payroll reports for retail store performance, labor cost analysis, and workforce planning.
Track retail associate hours, sales commissions, and delivery driver compensation.
Audit & Quality Assurance
Perform audit of select information entered by the Human Resource Department.
Review scanned documents and handle payroll‑related calls and inquiries from retail store managers and associates.
Perform other clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and system maintenance.
Employee & Manager Support
Answer questions from retail store supervisors, warehouse managers, delivery drivers, and retail associates regarding pay, deductions, and timecards.
What Do You Need?
Associate Degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent work experience (required).
6 months of hands‑on payroll experience or general office experience (required).
Experience processing payroll for multi‑location retail operations, hourly workforces, or distribution centers (preferred).
Experience with computerized payroll systems and document management systems (desired).
Understanding of retail labor laws, commission structures, overtime regulations, and shift differential calculations (preferred).
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high‑volume, time‑sensitive payroll deadlines for retail teams.
