How You'll Make an Impact
The Human Resource Generalist supports a wide range of human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, compliance, and training. This role serves as a key point of contact for employees and management, ensuring HR policies and practices are applied consistently and in compliance with applicable laws and organizational standards.
Recruitment
Formulates and extends job offers to internal and external candidates at hiring leader’s request in a timely manner.
Negotiates salary, incentives, terms and conditions of employment with candidates in accordance with policies.
Uses sound judgment in offers requiring negotiation.
Completely prepares and communicates next steps to both hiring leaders and new or transferring hires regarding the post‑offer hiring process and timeframes.
Ensures colleagues are provided all necessary information when moving from acquisition to onboarding.
Employee Onboarding
Facilitates the collection and entry of human‑resource data and the generation and distribution of related reports and information.
Reviews all personnel forms for completeness, accuracy, timing, and conformity to policy guidelines.
Responds to candidates and stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
Responds to internal and external inquiries for personnel information, providing verbal or written verification.
Generates the employment documents required for the completion of an employee file in compliance with all regulatory requirements and according to HR policies and procedures.
Conducts intake interviews with new colleagues to complete new hire documents, begins background clearance checks, and prepares them to attend New‑Colleague Orientation.
Ensures new hire files are complete and in proper order.
Compensation & Benefits
Assists with HR policy‑related questions.
Assists with colleague‑related issues.
Interacts with current, former, and future colleagues to provide HR information.
Completes HR related documents, such as verification of employment and benefits verification.
Investigates discrepancies and/or issues, advocates for participating colleagues.
Liaises with managers and management team members regarding benefits matters.
Ensures compliance with laws and regulations.
Orientation
Identifies new colleagues to attend orientation, ensuring all requirements have been met and employee documents have been received.
Greets new hires at orientation.
Conducts orientation.
Reviews orientation outline, ensures BLS cards are up to date and explains additional training opportunities available through Colleague Education.
Interacts with new hires, answering login and password questions.
Ensures HealthStream assignments are complete.
Required Education
Minimum: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree.
Required Experience
Minimum: Four (4) years of related experience in Human Resources.
Experience with Workday, Microsoft Teams, and ICIMS is preferred.
Required Certification/License/Registry
None.
