POSITION
Van Wyck & Van Wyck is seeking an experienced Event Production Manager to elevate the technical and production execution of our events. This role reports directly to our Technical Director and is responsible for translating creative concepts into precise, buildable plans and seamless on-site execution. The ideal candidate brings strong AutoCAD drafting capabilities, including detailed floor plans and layouts, along with a working knowledge of audio/visual systems and technical production components. Experience in live theater or performance-based environments is highly valued, particularly where timing, cueing, and cross-functional coordination are critical. This role is central to delivering both creative integrity and operational rigor across our events and special projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee end-to-end production for on-site events, ensuring seamless execution from setup to breakdown
Manage logistics for tent installations, rigging, lighting, audio, staging, and other technical components
Supervise and coordinate vendors, contractors, and crew to meet event timelines and standards
Conduct on-site troubleshooting and provide creative solutions to address real-time challenges
Collaborate with the design team to translate creative concepts into executable production plans
Utilize CAD software to draft layouts, technical plans, and spatial arrangements for event setups
Review and refine production schedules, diagrams, and equipment lists to align with event needs
Source and manage production vendors and ensure all contracts, permits, and insurance requirements are met
Lead on-site teams, including labor crews, technical staff, and stagehands, fostering clear communication and teamwork
Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols throughout the event lifecycle
Prepare and manage production budgets, tracking costs against projections to ensure profitability
Provide post-event reporting, including debriefs on production successes, challenges, and areas for improvement
PAY AND BENEFITS AT VAN WYCK & VAN WYCK
This position has an annual base salary range of $175,000 to $200,000. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on the candidate's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition to base salary, employees may be eligible for other benefits that impact overall compensation or total rewards. Other benefits include:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
Candidates must possess the following qualities:
5+ years in event design, lighting, interior or architectural design, or theater set design
Profound knowledge of production elements like lighting, sound, and video, and proficiency in essential software (AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office)
Demonstrates an unwavering enthusiasm for creating and executing live events, driven by a love for dynamic, immersive experiences that captivate audiences and exceed client expectations
Proven ability to lead diverse teams, including managing external vendors and internal staff, fostering a collaborative and productive environment
Strong capabilities in negotiating and managing sizable budgets with a focus on cost-efficiency
Excellent communication skills, detail-oriented, highly dependable, and capable of working independently or as part of a team in high-pressure situations
Ability to work flexible hours and travel both nationally and, at times, internationally, for events and site visits as necessary
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
Demonstrated creative vision and a keen intellectual curiosity about industry trends and innovations
Experience in supervising junior staff or coordinating with outside team members
Impeccable taste and etiquette, reflecting the company’s high standards in all professional interactions
