Pay & Benefits

Compensation $20 to $26.75 hourly wage based on experience and education

Schedule Full-time, 40 hours per week, 5x8 hour day shifts

This position combines registration duties with scheduling responsibilities to ensure a streamlined patient experience. In this role, the representative will greet patients, collect demographic and insurance information, and schedule appointments. This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, and a focus on delivering exceptional customer service. It serves as a key liaison between patients, clinical teams, and administrative staff to facilitate timely access to care.

Responsibilities

Greet patients promptly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression.

Answer inbound calls promptly, document relevant details in phone notes, and ensure accurate and efficient communication of information to the appropriate team or individual.

Accurately gather and input patient demographics, insurance information, and other required data into the system.

Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage, and obtain per‑authorization and pre‑certifications and notifications prior to services being rendered.

Obtain necessary signatures, consent forms, and documentation from patients.

Receive physician orders and seek clarification, if needed. Coordinate case times for treatments or diagnostic procedures in a computerized scheduling system. Verify and review physician privilege status prior to scheduling.

Calculate, collect and process co‑pays, payments, or outstanding balances as needed.

Address patient inquiries regarding registration, insurance, or billing processes.

Collaborate with clinical staff and/or business office to ensure seamless patient flow and accurate data sharing.

Monitor and retrieve voicemails regularly, ensuring messages are reviewed and routed to the appropriate team for timely follow‑up and resolution.

Sort and organize incoming documents in RightFax, ensuring they are accurately categorized and routed to the appropriate team or department.

Perform all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provide all customers of Foundation Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.

Qualifications

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.

Requires skills normally acquired over two (2) or more years of related work experience.

Requires excellent customer service skills and knowledge, normally acquired with one (1) or more years of related work experience.

Requires the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision and the ability to work independently.

Requires excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to effectively interact with a wide range of audiences. Must have the ability to handle ongoing face‑to‑face contact with patients and staff while functioning in a busy medical office environment.

Strong knowledge of the use of common office software, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software are required.

Preferred Qualifications

Medical terminology experience is preferred.

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
