Responsibilities
Operates a Class B Hazmat vehicle, delivering compressed and liquid gas cylinders and hard goods along designated routes. Collects empty cylinders from customers. Records transactions and obtains signatures. Addresses customer inquiries, ensuring satisfaction. Handles loading/unloading. Conducts pre/post-trip vehicle checks, noting issues and ensuring safety compliance. Presents a professional appearance and upkeeps the vehicle's condition.
Be a Customer Ambassador: be the primary point of contact for customers, driving an established route to deliver compressed gas cylinders and related products. Handle customer orders, resolve service complaints, and build strong relationships.
Safety and Efficiency: safely and efficiently load, transport, and unload products from company-provided straight or box truck, adhering to all DOT and company regulations.
Maintain Your Vehicle: perform routine maintenance checks and keep the truck clean, ensuring it is ready for the daily route.
Physical Requirements: frequently lift 25-75 lbs and up to 125+ lbs with aid. Regular bending and driving for up to 8 hours per day on hazardous cargo.
Required Qualifications
Experience: At least one full year of Class A or B CDL driving experience verifiable under DOT requirements in the past 5 years, or a recent graduate from an accredited driving school. Exceptional customer service skills are a plus.
Endorsements: Class A or B CDL with a Hazmat endorsement or ability to obtain Hazmat upon offer contingency.
Clean Record: A clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and at least 21 years of age.
Physical Capability: ability to safely handle and deliver products with routine lifting 25-75 lbs and up to 125+ lbs; frequent bending, walking, standing and driving for up to 8 hours a day.
Skills: ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and read/comprehend material safety data sheets.
