Location
905, Herrontown Rd - Princeton, NJ

Hours
Part‑time, 20 hours a week – Days Sun + Mon 7 am – 3:30 pm Fri 8 am –12 pm

Responsibilities

Troubleshooting – Evaluate a maintenance problem and take action or actions to correct said problem in an efficient and professional manner.

Mechanical – Apply knowledge of and demonstrate advanced competency in general mechanical maintenance. Duties include: repair of beds, hand controls, and pillow speakers; removal and/or replacement of small motors; repair of medium appliances and/or machinery; repair of building elements and/or furnishing.

Electrical – Apply knowledge of and demonstrate advanced competency in general electrical maintenance. Duties include: change and/or repair switches, outlets, and plugs; change lighting tubes, bulbs, and ballasts; perform electrical safety checks of hospital and patient‑owned equipment; replace TVs; perform basic troubleshooting and repair of small to medium electrical equipment (contractors, motor starters, timers, etc.).

Emergency duties: snow removal; fire response and assistance; natural disaster assistance.

Plumbing – Apply knowledge of and demonstrate advanced competency in general plumbing maintenance. Duties include: rebuild and/or replace plumbing fixtures such as flushometers, faucets, filters, etc.; unclog drains and lines of sinks, toilets, bedpan flushers, ice machines, refrigerator units, etc.; solder copper pipe and other plumbing components.

Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning – Apply knowledge of and demonstrate competency in general HVAC/R maintenance. Duties include: clean and/or replace filters; adjust and repair individual heater/AC units; basic diagnosis and repair of AC refrigeration units; perform maintenance and preventative maintenance on large HVAC/R equipment.

Paint/Finish Work – Apply knowledge of and demonstrate competency in general painting and finish work. Duties include: prepare and paint surfaces; apply rubber cove base; replace damaged or missing ceiling tiles or floor tiles; install flooring.

Lock and Hardware Work – Apply knowledge of and demonstrate competency in key, lock, and hardware. Duties include: repair and/or replace lock mechanisms, door hardware, file cabinet hardware; adjust to proper operation; cut and code keys.

Demolition and Construction – Apply knowledge of and demonstrate basic competency in general demolition and construction work. Duties include: remove piping, electrical wiring, and/or building material; reapply insulating or building materials; cutting/welding and fabrication using oxy‑acetylene or electric arc.

Carpentry – Installation of floor and wall tiles; grouting/sealing of floor and wall tiles.

Credentials

Driver's License (Required)

Maintains a valid Driver’s License, CDL license a plus

Education or Equivalent Experience

H.S. Diploma/GED

Equivalent Experience: four (4)‑year apprenticeship; 6+ years general maintenance experience or equivalent; experience in related specialty (electrical, plumbing, HVAC/R, etc.)

Salary Range
$22.01 - $35.08 per hour
