Overview
We are seeking a professional, career-oriented
HR Generalist
to join our executive team in a high-impact "Succession Track" role. This position is designed for a candidate with formal HR training who is looking to master the complexities of industrial office management and human resources. For the first approximately 24 months, you will work in direct partnership with our veteran Office and HR Manager. This intentional mentorship period will allow you to learn our unique operational DNA before transitioning into a department leadership role
Responsibilities
Human Resources & Compliance (SHRM Standards)
Strategic HR Management:
Modernize and maintain the Uesco Employee Handbook in alignment with SHRM best practices and evolving labor laws in both Illinois and Indiana.
Recruitment & Onboarding:
Manage full-cycle recruiting, sit in on interviews, and lead the onboarding process via
ADP Workforce Now (WFN) .
Employee Relations:
Serve as a professional point of contact for employee concerns, maintaining strict confidentiality and professional ethics.
Training Coordination:
Facilitate mandatory compliance training, including the annual Illinois Harassment course.
Regulatory Compliance:
Manage personnel and medical files, maintain required labor law postings, and oversee ERISA document compliance.
Payroll & Retirement Administration
Full-Cycle Payroll:
Process payroll for 100+ employees using ADP Workforce Now.
Financial Benefits Management:
Administer a sophisticated retirement portfolio, including:
3% Safe Harbor
contributions.
Profit Sharing
plan entries and tracking.
Cash Balance
plan administration via Fidelity and Schwab.
Tax Reporting:
Prepare and distribute yearly 1099s, 1094-B, and 1095-B forms.
Insurance & Safety Coordination
Benefit Renewals:
Coordinate annual renewals for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, and manage employee enrollment.
Risk Management:
Report Workers' Compensation cases and maintain detailed claim files.
Safety Compliance:
Work with the President to manage liability, WC, and Auto insurance renewals, and ensure adherence to the Workplace Injury and Illness Prevention Program.
Office Operations
Financial Tracking:
Monitor bank activity, including ACH and credit card payments.
Tax Support:
Partner with the President and external accountants on year-end tax preparation and property tax payments.
Logistics:
Manage company vehicle lists, IPass accounts, and coordinate backup for Accounts Payable.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Required).
Training:
Formal HR training and familiarity with SHRM best practices. SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a significant plus.
Experience:
0–3 years of experience in HR or Payroll; highly motivated "fresh out of college" candidates are encouraged to apply.
Software:
Experience with
ADP Workforce Now
is highly preferred.
