Overview
The Business Management department is a fast-paced, dynamic team that partners with Marketing and Publicity to manage budgets, track invoices, troubleshoot AP-related issues, and support Finance with reporting. This role will work closely with DET Marketing and PR, reporting to the Director of Business Management. The Business Manager will oversee business finance operations, manage budgets in partnership with budget owners (VPs and above), collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive strategic initiatives, and maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Provide guidance and expertise in business operations, budget management, and strategic planning.
Inform Long‑Range and Annual Operating Plans in M360.
Review budget reports and scenarios with Senior Executives to incorporate actuals and commitments, driving strategic budget management decisions.
Interpret internal and external business challenges, lead projects, and recommend best practices to improve processes and operational efficiency.
Build, maintain, and iterate reporting budget actuals.
Create or iterate existing business finance operations processes, such as managing Daily Hire onboarding, Workday, SAP, or D Time, including training and guidance.
Provide technical and operational expertise on all financial tools.
Liaise with Finance and Controllership on behalf of business teams to ensure P&L accuracy and completeness.
Review and submit monthly/quarterly Forecast/Close reporting for a multi‑$100MM budget.
Write variances on budget fluctuations in Forecast/Close submissions.
Submit adjustments to Controllership via journal entry and manage billbacks for external and internal parties.
Process and audit invoices within the SAP ERP and Procurement tool.
Manage deposit transactions with the company Cashier and handle checks with Controllership.
Set up new vendors for APEX (AP) and resolve vendor portal issues.
Connect and communicate with all levels of management, conveying complex concepts clearly.
Foster collaboration and build relationships across departments to achieve shared objectives.
Ensure internal controls are followed and adhere to company policies and procedures in managing business finance operations.
Preserve the integrity of the vendor master database to mitigate risk to company data and assets.
