Overview Of The Payroll Accountant Role
Process and reconcile payroll for a large employee population, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Prepare payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll to the general ledger
Manage payroll tax reporting, garnishments, benefit deductions, and employee withholdings
Support month‑end and year‑end close, including account reconciliations and audit preparation
Preferred Qualifications For The Payroll Accountant Role
3+ years of payroll and accounting experience, preferably in a high‑volume environment
Strong understanding of payroll tax compliance, payroll reconciliations, and general ledger impact
Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, PeopleSoft, UKG, or similar ERP platforms
Strong Excel skills including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data analysis
Salary
$68,000 – $78,000 annually depending on experience | 100% onsite in South Bend, Indiana
