We are seeking an experienced
Controller
to lead accounting operations for a multi‑plant U.S. manufacturing organization. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting while fostering a collaborative, hands‑on culture across multiple plant locations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Close
Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for multiple U.S. manufacturing plants
Ensure accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and variance analyses
Maintain strong internal controls and documented accounting processes
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
Oversee AP and AR teams supporting U.S. plant operations
Ensure efficient processing of vendor payments, customer billings, cash applications, and collections
Monitor aging reports, working capital metrics, and resolve discrepancies collaboratively with plants
Manufacturing & Plant Support
Partner with plant controllers, operations leaders, and plant managers to support financial accuracy and decision‑making
Understand manufacturing cost structures, inventory accounting, and standard costing principles
Support inventory reconciliation, cycle counts, and physical inventories
Leadership & Collaboration
Build, mentor, and develop accounting talent in a collaborative, people‑first culture
Serve as a trusted business partner across finance, operations, and leadership teams
Promote consistency while respecting the unique needs of each plant
Process Improvement & Systems
Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes, close timelines, and reporting quality
Support ERP optimization and accounting system enhancements
Assist with audits, tax support, banking relationships, and special projects as needed
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
8–12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including manufacturing
Experience overseeing accounting for multiple plants or locations
Strong knowledge of GAAP and month‑end close management
AP and AR leadership experience
Proven ability to lead teams and collaborate across functions
Preferred
CPA or similar professional certification
Experience in privately held, growth‑oriented manufacturing companies
ERP system experience (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)
