RN - Inpatient Rehabilitation Nurse

Full Time

Deliver professional nursing care to patients within an inpatient rehabilitation setting. This role involves working under physician guidance to provide comprehensive patient care, mentoring new staff and students, and performing nursing duties within the scope defined by licensing boards.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assess and evaluate patient needs, maintaining detailed care plans.
  • Promote patient independence by setting care goals and involving patients and families in discussions about medical issues, testing, medications, and self-care.
  • Administer and manage medications accurately and timely.
  • Educate patients and families on physical, emotional, and psychosocial care aspects, including disease processes and symptom management.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation following organizational policies.
  • Observe and report changes in patients' physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual conditions.
  • Maintain compliance with privacy and security regulations regarding Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • Foster effective communication and professional relationships with patients, families, healthcare team members, and external agencies.

Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Licensure and Certifications: Current Registered Nurse licensure in a compact state required. BLS/CPR certification required within 30 days of hire or by orientation end. Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, NIHSS, or AWHONN may be required depending on department policy.

Experience: Previous experience in a similar healthcare environment is preferred.

Skills and Abilities: Strong communication skills, ability to multitask and prioritize, basic computer proficiency, and application of nursing principles.

Physical Requirements: Ability to occasionally exert up to 100 lbs and frequently up to 20 lbs; standing or walking 51-75% of the workday, with or without accommodation.
