Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a dynamic emergency department setting within a regional healthcare facility in the Midwest. This role emphasizes best practices, relationship-based care, and adherence to professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics and regulatory requirements.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term patient care needs.
- Apply clinical expertise to assign patient care based on acuity and technical requirements, continuously enhancing skills through evidence-based practice.
- Deliver exceptional patient and visitor experiences by demonstrating respect, integrity, empathy, and collaboration.
- Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise and supporting healthcare students and programs.
- Prioritize patient and workplace safety by adhering to national safety standards, HIPAA, and Just Culture principles, reporting incidents proactively.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, including certifications, advanced degrees, and leadership opportunities.
- Foster teamwork by motivating colleagues, encouraging cooperation, and providing mentorship and constructive feedback.
Education and Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program or, alternatively, five years of acute care nursing experience if from a non-accredited school.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in an accelerated MSN program is acceptable.
- Completion and maintenance of area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications.
Licensure and Certifications:
- Current active Registered Nurse license as required by the state nursing board.
This position offers a 2nd shift schedule with 36 hours per week in a supportive and growth-oriented environment serving the Midwest region.
