
Engineer-in-Training/Designer – Roadway Design

WHAT YOU WILL DO
We have an excellent opportunity for an Engineer-in-Training/Designer on our Roadway Design team. The successful candidate will be responsible for both technical content and project management tasks related to public infrastructure roadway projects. Typical tasks for this position include the development of design plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates for public bidding; providing support and guidance for junior staff, client and sub-consultant management and coordination; tracking of project budgets; delegation of work tasks to supporting staff; and basic knowledge of survey data collection, land rights, and regulatory permitting.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree – Civil Engineering
Relevant internship or 1-4 years’ experience of progressive responsibility in Civil Engineering. Recent grads considered.
EIT preferred
Experience with AutoCAD and AutoTurn preferred
Experience with MassDOT standards and deliverables a plus
Ability to work in team environment as an individual contributor
Organized and able to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently across multiple projects and deliverables
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to utilize critical thinking, judgment, and experience to define, analyze, and resolve issues

Salary range: $76,000-92,000
The salary range displayed is a good‑faith estimate of the base pay for this position. The salary offered to the successful candidate will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, education, and market conditions. The salary range does not include additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses or benefits, which may be part of the total compensation package.
