Job Overview
Utility Operating Chemicals Technician (Utility OCT). This entry position focuses on handling logistics of chemical inventories, loading and unloading trucks and rail cars, and supporting utilities, pulp mill, and water plant areas.
Schedule
Monday – Friday day shift, start times vary beginning at 6:00 am.
Compensation
Starting at $27.46 per hour.
Responsibilities
Coordinate with the scale house on incoming chemicals and freight for loading and unloading.
Manage chemical operation inventories.
Monitor safety and performance of external trucks and rail drivers, ensuring adherence to procedure.
Communicate with department operators, crew leader, and others about chemical issues and loading/unloading activities.
Learn and interface with tall oil operations; support chemical load/unloading for tall oil plant operations.
Learn and monitor chemical process safety aspects; complete incident reports and spill reports for deficiencies.
Perform load/unload activities for acid trucks, caustic trucks, soap trucks and rail cars, tall oil trucks and rail cars, sulfide trucks and rail cars, lime trucks across the mill.
Basic Qualifications
Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, construction, or military environment.
Experience working with computers.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with logistics loading, unloading, and handling of chemicals.
Experience with chemical process safety systems.
Two‑year degree in a technical field of study (e.g., process operations and engineering) or a minimum of two years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
