Position Overview
The two‑year Graduate Assistant position offers an opportunity to pursue a Master of Arts in Religion through the Community of Christ Seminary while supporting the Campus Minister and student life at Graceland University. The Assistant will assist with pastoral care, worship, discipleship, and student development on the Lamoni campus.
Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and admission to Community of Christ Seminary required.
Passion for ministry, organizational and leadership skills, and ability to connect with college‑age students are required. Experience with college‑age student spiritual development or ministry is desired.
Essential Functions
Successfully complete the Master of Arts degree in the Community of Christ Seminary.
Offer pastoral care, disciple formation, and relational ministry to students on the Lamoni campus (5 h/week).
Maintain ministry presence in the Campus Ministries Student Office (5 h/week).
Present a positive witness and testimony of Jesus Christ and the Community of Christ.
Assist the Campus Minister with InSpire, the Community of Christ Missional Ministry and Leadership Practicum (2 h/week).
Attend, support, and lead Community of Christ worship on campus, including speaking, presiding, and administering the Sacraments (if holding appropriate priesthood) (2 h/week).
Attend, support, and lead meetings of the Campus Ministries teams, including the Council of House Chaplains and Campus Chaplains (student employees) (2 h/week).
Provide ministry to the wider campus community and church when possible; participate in World Church events as coordinated with the Campus Minister (2 h/week).
