Position Description
Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid-Level Diesel Trailer Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Hurricane, Utah.
We want the right Maintenance Repair Mechanic to join us at Ryder to work on Heavy Duty Vehicles.
Compensation
Hourly Pay: $26.00 per hour
Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
Trailer Experience REQUIRED
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Weekends OFF
Hours: First Shift 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Responsibilities
Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
Execute standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections
Conduct preventive maintenance
Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers
Identify root causes and perform required repairs
Replace defective components as instructed
Perform facility maintenance duties
Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints
Use Shop Management System and electronic documentation
Work in accordance with all federal, provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
Perform additional support duties as required (e.g., Service Island support)
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Vocational or Technical Certification / Post‑secondary degree or technical certifications preferred
Basic tools required
Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
Routine preventive maintenance experience, including oil changes, brake and tire work
Two (2) years or more of classroom training and work experience in required field preferred
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A preferred
Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test and background check including drug and alcohol verification for last 3 years
