Construction Project Manager - Healthcare

Position Description

Manage all aspects of healthcare construction projects including scope, schedule, budget, and quality.

Coordinate with design teams, contractors, and hospital representatives throughout design and construction phases.

Ensure compliance with HCAI (formerly OSHPD) requirements, including plan review, field inspections, and closeout documentation.

Prepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts, schedules, and risk assessments.

Lead project meetings, issue progress reports, and ensure proactive communication among stakeholders.

Oversee procurement and contract administration for consultants and contractors.

Ensure adherence to infection control, interim life safety measures, and hospital operational protocols during construction.

Identify and resolve project issues and conflicts efficiently to maintain project momentum.

Support and mentor Assistant Project Managers or Project Engineers as needed.

Foster long‑term client relationships through professionalism, trust, and results‑driven service.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.

Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in construction or project management, with at least 3–5 years specifically managing healthcare projects in California.

Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of California Building Code, Title 24, HCAI/OSHPD processes, and healthcare facility requirements.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, Procore, or equivalent project management software.

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to lead meetings, write reports, and interface effectively with healthcare clients.

Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects concurrently.

Preferred Attributes

Experience working in active healthcare environments (acute care, outpatient, behavioral health, etc.).

Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.

Ability to anticipate project challenges and develop proactive mitigation strategies.
