Job Title: Warehouse Assistant – Tier II

Immediate Supervisor: Warehouse Manager
Supervises: N/A
Employee Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly

Purpose: Assists in daily warehouse operations and fulfills delivery and warehousing requirements of product in accordance with internal and external, customer requests.
Area of Responsibility: This position is within the scope of HVO inventory management, including the handling and storage of raw materials, intermediate goods and finished goods used in and for manufacturing, as well as the shipping of these materials/goods for customer use. This position could work in any of the two buildings/warehouses operated by HVO, according to personnel demand.
Essential Responsibilities/Requirements:
Tier II Warehouse Assistant

1)Must possess an understanding of HVO safety rules for warehouse work
2)Be able to operate/use material handling equipment (i.e. fork truck, lifts, stackers, wrappers, etc.)
a.Perform safety checks and inspections on equipment, as needed
b.Wear appropriate PPE, seat belts and harnesses
3)Assist in loading and unloading trucks, vans, trailers and other vehicles
4)Use internal inventory management system (ERP) to process and track all materials/goods
a.Inventory movements
b.Choose proper locations for storage
c.Material requests from all departments
5)Perform warehouse inventory controls to maintain proper inventory levels
a.Accurate inventory movements
b.Pick requested materials for internal customers
6)Organize and maintain inventory levels
a.Verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments
b.Verify accuracy of warehouse stock
7)Inspect/examine products, components and materials for defects/quality concerns
8)Inspect outbound trailers for varying degrees of defects and suitability
9)Assist in ensuring a safe and clean warehouse
a.Carry out weekly and monthly cleaning requirements
10)Operate packaging tools/equipment to assure products are secured for shipment
11)Safely drive company vehicles for material deliveries and general responsibilities; including company box truck
a.Perform safety checks and inspections on vehicles, as needed
b.Must have a valid driver's license to drive company truck
c.Be able to fuel trucks when needed
12)Follow quality standards and comply with company procedures, policies and regulations
a.Work with Quality personnel with disposition/handling of products
13)Communicate and cooperate with supervisors, managers and coworkers
14)Receive ground deliveries (UPS, Fedex, etc) and maintain a log of incoming receptions
15)Answer phones and provide information to both internal and external customers
16)Possess computer skills and use various software platforms
17)Participate in ongoing training, as directed
18)Contribute ideas to improve efficiencies, processes, procedures, etc.
19)Be able to work overtime, as needed.
20)Perform non-routine tasks as directed by manager/supervisor
21)Contribute to a positive work environment by being a role model to fellow employees and displaying a positive attitude and willingness to work through challenging situations.
Minimal requirements
1)High school diploma or equivalent
2)Must possess valid North Carolina driver's license
3)Must be able to maintain appropriate licensing, credentials and acceptable driving record
4)Must maintain HVO required vehicle insurance levels
5)Must be able to use a computer
6)Must be able to use company email
7)Must be able to use company inventory management system
8)Must be able to work in a team environment

Physical requirements

1)Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, or carry; reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance or stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl.
2)Regularly required to lift 10 lbs. and up to 50 lbs.
3)Must be able to safely tolerate heat in the summer and cold in the winter.
4)Required to work on equipment that will be operating at various heights, approximately 10-20' from ground level.
5)Required to perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner.
