Maintenance Mechanic- Level 3

Position Summary
Responsible to ensure safe execution of predictive, preventive, and corrective forklift maintenance. Candidate must have forklift mechanic/technician experience in manufacturing and/or food processing plant. Must have an honest work ethic and be self‑motivated.
Position Responsibilities
Perform routine, emergency, and preventative maintenance of forklifts.
Interpret manufacturer's technical manuals to perform the necessary maintenance and repairs.
Troubleshoot forklift problems including brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems, detect imperfections, potential problems, safety issues, and/or malfunctions.
Diagnose and repair mast and attachment components.
Have good working knowledge of brake systems and tire/wheel changes.
Work on LP and electric systems.
Replace broken or defective parts from stock or order replacement parts for major repairs.
Reassemble forklifts and make all necessary adjustments for effective and safe operation.
Perform safety inspections of forklifts prior to release back to the work floor.
Clean equipment and other areas as required.
Ensure work area and methods used in carrying out job duties meet safety requirements.
Maintain an organized and neat work area.
Complete legible service documents and logs for preventative maintenance tasks.
Learn new technical information and techniques to stay current with changing technology.
Perform battery maintenance, washing, and testing.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Two or more years of experience in a related field, including maintenance of various makes and models of lift trucks with lift ratings up to 5,000 lbs.
Solid foundation of mechanical knowledge and ability along with knowledge of industrial electricity up to 480 volts would be preferred.
Valid driver's license and ability to pass a drug screen.
Ability to work safely and follow company rules and procedures.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. consistently throughout the day.
Must be able to pass the standard Forklift Driver written and driving exams.
