Work Hours & Location

Monday – Friday, every week

Start time: 1:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

Standard repair/maintenance shop at WM Chesapeake, VA Hauling Site

Responsibilities

Repair trucks and equipment servicing over 20 million customers across the USA

Use modern tools and procedures to deliver exceptional maintenance on diesel and, at some locations, CNG trucks

Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment

Estimate time and material costs for vehicle repairs and new parts

Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs)

Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns

Conduct safety checks on vehicles, prioritizing employee and community safety

Complete required paperwork, document parts usage, and account for repair times

Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports

Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate/OSHA standards and established safety procedures

Qualifications

4 years of relevant work experience

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Must be over 18 years of age

Legally eligible to work in the United States

Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations

Successfully complete and pass pre‑employment drug screen and physical

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing; constant standing, walking, and grasping; occasional sitting and balancing

Exposure to physical occupational risks (cuts, burns, toxic chemicals, etc.) often

Exposure to environmental elements (dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, heat, humidity) often

Work in both indoor garage/shop or gas plant conditions and outdoor conditions with inclement weather, heat, and humidity

Salary Range
Expected base pay range U.S./Canada: $30.00–$35.00 per hour. Actual salary may vary by experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
