Container Mechanic – Kimball, NE
Clean Harbors is looking for a Container Mechanic to serve in Kimball, NE. The role involves sanding, prep work, inspecting, fabricating, cutting, welding, patching tarps, replacing tarps on containers at Clean Harbors and customer locations such as refineries. The technician must log all time and materials in an electronic repair order system, maintain a valid driver’s license, and operate service truck equipment supplied by the company.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by following safe work practices, policies, and processes.

Perform compliance and safety inspections, correct equipment deficiencies, and conduct preventive maintenance on company equipment.

Perform welding, cutting, grinding, mechanical repair and other metal‑working techniques consistent with the container repair trade.

Maintain shop housekeeping and building maintenance, welding systems, general repair equipment, and shop tools.

Prepare surfaces for painting and apply coatings using HVLP, airless or manual tooling and processes.

Fabricate, cut and weld roll‑off containers.

Produce quality products while meeting established standards.

Log all necessary time and material entries into the electronic repair order system.

Keep company truck clean, tidy and free of hazards.

Perform other welding duties and tasks assigned by management as needed.

Qualifications

MIG and Stick welding, mechanical experience in a fabrication/repair shop environment.

Experience with flat welding on steel preferred.

Successful completion of a Structural Welding test.

Welding certification is an asset.

Clean, clean‑shaven appearance and willingness to wear a respirator.

Valid driver’s license with a clean three‑year driving record.
