Job Summary
The Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial reporting functions within the organization. This includes leading the day‑to‑day bookkeeping operations, managing payroll and expense reimbursement processes, and ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. The Controller will work closely with the CFO or VP of Finance to maintain fiscal accountability and implement best practices in financial management.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Lead the accounting and bookkeeping operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month‑end close
Manage internal and external financial reporting, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies
Oversee payroll processing, including compliance with tax regulations and proper documentation of employee compensation
Administer and review employee expense reimbursements and corporate card activity for accuracy and policy adherence
Ensure timely month‑end and year‑end closes with high accuracy
Assist in budget tracking and variance analysis as needed
Support internal controls and audit readiness
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including HR and operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial workflows
Qualifications & Key Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred
Minimum of 5–7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
Strong technical accounting knowledge, including GAAP and internal control best practices
Experience managing payroll and expense reimbursement systems
High proficiency in financial software and accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar)
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Effective communicator with the ability to work cross‑functionally
Demonstrated integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality
