Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager
Fintrepid Solutions, Scottsdale, AZ, United States
Position:
Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager, Client Advisory
Location:
Scottsdale, AZ
Type:
Full-Time
Reports To:
CEO & Founder
Fintrepid Solutions is a fast-growing entrepreneurial professional services firm that serves entrepreneurs. We are dedicated to providing personalized and strategic solutions to our clients. Our team is committed to excellence, innovation, and delivering results that exceed expectations.
We're seeking an experienced Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager to join our client-facing team. This is a hands‑on role for an accounting professional who enjoys rolling up their sleeves — closing books, cleaning up messy data, building reporting, and getting clients audit‑ready — while also working alongside Client Leads on the broader financial strategy. If you thrive on variety, enjoy untangling complex accounting situations, and want exposure to multiple industries and business models without being locked into a single company, this role is built for you.
Key Responsibilities
Own or support month‑end and year‑end close processes across multiple client engagements, including journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis
Lead accounting cleanup and remediation projects — restating prior periods, rebuilding charts of accounts, correcting revenue recognition or accrual issues
Prepare and refine monthly financial reporting packages, including variance analysis and KPI reporting
Support audit and review readiness: workpaper preparation, PBC lists, auditor coordination, and technical accounting memos
Partner with Client Leads to deliver financial analysis, modeling, and operational improvements
Assist with ERP implementations, migrations, and process improvement initiatives
Build and document repeatable accounting processes and internal controls for growing clients
Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to Client Leads, CFOs, and executive leadership
Qualifications
7+ years of accounting experience; ideally a mix of industry and public or consulting
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
Strong technical accounting foundation: US GAAP, close process, reconciliations, accruals, revenue recognition
Financial experience in growing entrepreneurial companies or other dynamic environments
Experience in complex financial analysis and modeling
Strong project management skills with focus on driving solutions rather than only routine tasks
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Self‑directed problem solver who asks insightful questions to get to root causes
Coachable mindset with eagerness to learn and willingness to elevate your skills
Experience working effectively in team environments
What Makes You Ideal
You love the craft of accounting — clean books, tidy reconciliations, a close that lands on time — and you take pride in leaving things better than you found them. You're equally energized by the chance to step into different companies, industries, and challenges rather than doing the same close month after month for one business. You're hands‑on with the details but comfortable stepping into conversations with business owners and executives when the work calls for it. You work collaboratively with Client Leads and team members, bringing technical rigor to every engagement. You're confident in your abilities but stay coachable and committed to continuous growth.
This is a hybrid role requiring flexibility to work in our Scottsdale office, at client sites, and remotely as engagement needs dictate. We value work‑life balance while maintaining our commitment to exceptional client service.
