Job Overview
Master Level Diesel Technician – Ryder.
North Charleston, South Carolina.
Hourly pay: $39.00, with additional weekly, quarterly, and sign‑on bonuses.
Responsibilities
Interact with customers and manage preventative maintenance, repairs, and new estimate discussions.
Perform diagnostic and repair work on A/C, brakes, electrical, cooling, hydrodynamic, and drive‑line systems.
Verify compliance with safety, DOT, and company policies.
Document all work in the Shop Management System and maintain accurate safety and environmental records.
Mentor Mobile Technician II and III level technicians.
Adapt to changing schedules and customer needs.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least four years of advanced mechanical repair experience on heavy‑duty and medium‑duty equipment.
Solid hands‑on mechanic skills with a strong customer‑service focus.
Valid driver’s license, and where required a Class E, Class A CDL, or state driver’s license.
Diesel technician certification preferred; ASE or other vocational certifications are valuable.
Ability to pass Ryder drug test, background check, DOT physical, and Ryder road test.
Proficiency with diagnostic test equipment and shop computers.
Strong written and verbal communication; capability to work independently and as part of a team.
Prepared to obtain the required CDL within six months if not already held.
