Surgery - Cardiovascular Physician Assistant

Schedule: Full-Time Coverage

• Weekdays: Monday Friday, 7:00 AM 5:00 PM
• Night Call: 5:00 PM 7:00 AM
• Weekend Call: Required
• Minimum Coverage Requirement: Provider must be able to offer at least one full week of weekday and call coverage.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced NP (with RNFA) or PA to provide full-time first assist coverage in Cardiovascular Surgery at an academic medical center in Kentucky. This is a high-acuity, adult-only practice with a strong focus on quality and collaboration.

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Participate in morning rounds with faculty (typically 5 10 ICU patients).
• First assist in cardiovascular procedures, including CABG.
• Perform endoscopic vein harvesting independently.
• No responsibility for signing in as first call for patients.
• EMR: Epic

Requirements:

• Certification: NP (must have RNFA) or PA
• Licensure:
  • NP: Must hold a valid Kentucky license
  • PA: Must be eligible for licensure in Kentucky
• Experience:
  • Minimum 1 year recent experience first assisting in cardiovascular procedures
  • Proficient in endoscopic vein harvesting
  • Strong first assist skills
  • Prior experience with Epic EMR

• Collaborative team of faculty and surgical staff
