Summary
The main function of this role is to inspect and test processed, machined, fabricated, or assembled parts or products for defects, wear, and deviations from specifications. Additionally, the role involves reviewing Concealed Damage Claims to support strategic program management and planning.
Responsibilities
Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, and work for conformance to specifications.
Discard or reject products, materials, and equipment not meeting specifications.
Analyze and interpret blueprints, data, manuals, and other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment and certification methods, formulas, and measuring instruments required.
Record inspection or test data, such as weights, temperatures, grades, or moisture content, and quantities inspected or graded.
Mark items with details such as grade and acceptance or rejection status.
Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
Analyze test data and make computations as necessary to determine test results.
Review claim forms, bills of lading, and inspection reports to determine if damage occurred while in the care of the carrier.
Analyze photos and verify the validity of the claim.
Perform key program/project management, from planning to project deliverable developments.
Collaborate with key department leaders to develop short to mid-term planning.
Communicate to leadership on program/project progress and escalation/decision points.
Develop content for executive-level presentations and reports to communicate and achieve buy-in for recommendations.
Develop content for and coordinate executive workshops and working sessions.
Qualifications
Associate degree or higher (bachelor\'s degree preferred but not required).
0-2 years of experience from a strategy/management consulting firm or within a strategic planning/corporate development function.
2-4 years of experience in quality inspection or related field.
Experience communicating with mid-level to top-level leaders (status reports, presentations, in-person meetings).
Working knowledge of Project Management Fundamentals, Documentation practices, and systems.
Experience working in a global organization is a plus.
