
Litigation Assistant - St. Petersburg, FL

Reporting to the Office Manager or Designee, the Legal Assistant I is responsible for working within the stream of legal operations which can include pre-judgment remedies, judgements, post judgement remedies, and/or logistics process work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary.
Updates electronic files.
Handles phone calls, on occasion, from Court System.
Assists with preparation of trial/hearing folders.
Assists with preparation of pleadings and correspondence.
Processes mail daily and ensures all information received is updated properly in the collection software system.
Scans, copies, prints, and redacts legal documents.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
Being results driven and customer focused are requirements of the position.
Having the ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple work assignments.
Strong attention to detail while producing high-quality work result is critical.
Regular attendance in the office is required as an essential function of the position.
Education and Experience
Must have a high school diploma (or equivalent) with a preference for some college education and/or paralegal studies. Prefer one to three years of experience and a familiarity with legal terminology; however, will provide on the job training. Experience in the Microsoft Suite of products is required.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Frequently required to talk or hear, and use hand to type, handle, or touch objects.
Regularly required to stand and walk, and may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders.
Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds at times.
Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
