R & L Motors is an established, growing automotive dealership in Hickory, North Carolina, committed to providing excellent customer service and a smooth vehicle-buying experience. We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Customer Care / Admin Assistant to join our on-site team and support customer accounts, payment processing, and administrative operations.

Position overview: This role combines customer service, collections support, and clerical/admin duties. The incumbent will contact customers about past-due payments, process payments, maintain accurate records, and provide general administrative support to sales and finance teams. This is an on-site position at our Conover location with a stable schedule (Monday, Thursday, Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM).

Responsibilities

Contact customers regarding past-due accounts and outstanding balances via phone and email, maintaining a professional and courteous manner.

Process customer payments accurately and securely, including in-person and telephone payments; record and post transactions in dealership systems.

Investigate and resolve basic account issues, working with customers, lenders, and internal teams as needed to clarify balances and next steps.

Maintain organized, confidential electronic and physical records of payments, communications, and account activity.

Perform general clerical duties and data entry: prepare and file documents, update customer information, and support sales and finance paperwork processing.

Provide timely, clear responses to customer inquiries and elevate complex issues to management or appropriate departments.

Assist with periodic reporting of collections activity and maintain logs of outreach and outcomes.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.

Effective verbal and written communication skills and a professional customer service demeanor.

Basic computer proficiency and data entry skills; ability to learn dealership management systems.

Ability to handle confidential customer information with discretion and maintain data security.

Reliability and ability to work the stated on-site schedule.
