Cable Installation Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking several Installation & Cable Technicians for projects in Ames and the surrounding states. Some travel is required, and per diem is provided for travel assignments.

Responsibilities

Install data racks and cabinets, Cat5/Cat6 cabling, coax cable, and faceplates.

Perform testing, labeling, and assist with setup of DirecTV cable boxes, modems, wireless access points, and satellite dishes for individual rooms.

Support building out of server closets for network installations.

Work indoors and outdoors at school and apartment building sites, including occasional trenching and directional drilling.

Follow daily directions and assignments from project leads.

Required Skills & Experience

At least 6 months of low‑voltage experience or relevant hands‑on technical training.

Proficiency in installation, cable (Cat5, Cat6, coax), punchdown, wireless access points.

Knowledge of low‑voltage systems.

Additional Qualifications

Reliable and dependable.

Strong work ethic.

Attention to detail.

Motivated to grow and advance in the field.

Experience Level
Intermediate Level.

Job Type & Location
Contract to Hire, based out of Ames, IA. Fully onsite position. Some travel required within surrounding states.

Pay and Benefits
Pay range: $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
