Duties and Responsibilities

Schedule depositions (parties and doctors), court reporters, videographers, mediations, doctor/attorney/client conferences, etc. Follow-up with reminders to clients, defense attorneys, doctors, etc.

Prepare and serve deposition notices and subpoenas.

Scan mail, code each piece properly, and send notes to the attorney and case manager in case management software.

E-File Summons and Complaints with the Court after being prepared by the case manager.

Serve Complaint on Defendant(s) and the SCDOI based on the information provided by the case manager.

Request/file orders of protection for all attorneys in the firm.

Calendar scheduling order deadlines.

Prepare video deposition clips for use at mediation and trial.

Assist with the preparation of exhibits for pleadings and trial.

Confirm medical balances.

Order SLED reports and driving records.

Requirements
Qualifications
Language Ability
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Outlook, Needles Case Management software and Worldox.

Education/Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
