Job Description
This temporary, in‑office role in Manhattan supports the finance and operations team during a planned leave of absence. The Accounting Clerk accurately processes financial data, assists with bookkeeping tasks, and provides general administrative support to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations.

Accounting Clerk

Responsibilities

Review daily bank activity and support weekly reconciliation checks to ensure accurate financial records.

Process vendor bills and maintain timely, accurate data entry in QuickBooks.

Assist with payment processing and expense tracking to support accounts payable and general finance activities.

Prepare monthly sales reports and commission packages for review and approval.

Send remittances and support general accounts payable activities as needed.

Provide backup support for QuickBooks entries and finance administration tasks.

Create and send formal purchase orders and QuickBooks quotes when required.

Perform basic data entry and maintain organized financial and administrative records.

Provide general administrative support to the finance and operations team as required.

Essential Skills

Prior hands‑on experience with QuickBooks.

Background in bookkeeping or finance administration.

Proficiency with basic Microsoft Excel functions.

Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.

High level of organization, reliability, and follow‑through.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience supporting accounts payable processes, including vendor bill processing and remittances.

Familiarity with preparing sales reports and commission calculations.

Experience with administrative support in a finance or operations environment.

Comfort working in a structured, part‑time weekly schedule over an 18–20 week temporary assignment.

Work Environment
This is an on‑site role based in Manhattan with a structured 32‑hour work week. The typical schedule is Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. You will work in an office environment using QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and standard office tools to support finance and operations. The setting is collaborative yet allows for independent work, with a focus on accuracy, confidentiality, and timely completion of financial and administrative tasks.

Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.
