Job Description
As an NBCUniversal Academic Year Internship student, you will work on real projects, collaborate with teams across media, entertainment, and technology, and receive support to grow professionally over two semesters.

Program Details
Program Dates:

September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027

Time Commitment:

16–24 hours per week; exact schedule to be determined based on business needs.

Location:

New York, NY (interns required to work from this location).

Recruitment Timeline

April 20: Applications open.

May 8: Applications close at 11:59 pm ET.

Early May – Mid June: First round video interviews.

Mid June – Mid July: Second round interviews.

Throughout July: Selected candidates receive offers.

Areas of Placement

Better Get Baquero & Responde – research, telephone interviews, book shoots, script and video logging.

New York Live & Acceso Total – production assistance, field shoots, studio support, segment editing.

News Planning – story research, fact‑checking, breaking‑news assistance, desk support.

Newsroom – Assignment Desk responsibilities, news monitoring, reporter support.

Digital – 24/7 digital newsroom tasks: processing AP stories, copy writing, video production, podcasting.

Creative Services – promotion creation, graphic design support, production shoot assistance.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements:

Actively enrolled in a degree‑granting program through the entire program duration.

Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).

Authorized to work in the United States without requiring work‑visa sponsorship.

Available to work 16–24 hours per week from September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027.

Willing to work in New York, NY.

Desired Characteristics:

Junior or above class standing preferred.

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.

Background in journalism, production, communications, digital media, or research.

Strong interest in the media industry.

Commitment to an inclusive workplace.

Ability to multitask and highly organized.

Excellent verbal and written communication.

Previous corporate internship experience.

Experience with social media platforms.

Proficiency in Final Cut Pro, Adobe Creative Suite, SEO tools, AP Style writing.

Fluency in Spanish a plus.

The hourly rate for student interns is $19.00.

Additional Information
External candidates may be required to attend an in‑person interview at a NBCUniversal location prior to a hiring decision. NBCUniversal is an E‑Verify company; all interns must complete an I‑9 form within three days of hire.
